| Bio of the Artist |
i like to call this music "suicide folk" as a joke, but the truth is these tunes are written with no pre-conception of pop structure, hooks or lyrical barriers. alot of people have told me they're dark, depressing, or bitter sounding.
maybe they are, and that's cool if that's your interpretation, but i don't see them that way.
i find that the songs are therapuatic for me. cathartic, if you will. some of the songs on the album were written while in full blown heroin addiction, and some while in recovery. if you check out the album, and listen to "misery" you'll hear my reaction to watching t.v. for the first time in 4 years.
even living on the street wasn't as depressing as that.
these songs also give you the oppurtunity to hear guitar playing virtually without influence, because i never took lessons and learned few cover tunes.
if you do venture to hear the rest of the album,(which i obviously hope you do) - don't let it be depressing - be glad that you are hearing music that gave someone (me) the hope to live and an outlet for feelings that had no other positive way out.
peace!! |
