DJ EP AKA eye-V is mostly known for hosting incredible live music productions and dance parties such as the Black Lily Productions and Soul Traveler Sundays in Philadelphia, PA, USA. (expired link). Having grown up in and around the music industry during some of its greatest innovations, it all too natural for her to wind up on the wheels of steel. She describes her sound to be “progressive flashbacks of the self”. Sounds emanate from so many different places in our being such as the way each and every one of us hears and feels it; and ultimately expresses it differently. DJ EP draws upon the influences of her mentors and personal favorite pioneers of sound including DJ Cozmic Cat, Ms. Dae, Joey Blanco, Brenden Bring’Em, Jazzy Jeff, Tee Alfred, King Britt & Dozia, Randy Flash, Rich Medina Johnny Dangerous, Lady Alma, Jill Scott and her old partner in crime at the Black Lily, DJ Page One. Therefore there is an ultimate respect and homage given to musical legends like Hugh Masekela, Sergio Mendes, Nina Simone, TSOP, Motown, to Pink Floyd, Don Letts, Bob Marley. Then contemporary giants like Marc De Clive Lo, 4 Hero, Cinematic Orchestra, Erro, Estero, Outkast, Beady Belle and more.
